Classroom updates!
Greetings friends and families,
First off, I’d like to thank those of you who helped make our gingerbread unit a success. We had postcards from all over the country and WORLD! We received some from Italy, Australia, Chile, and England just to name a few! Without your help, the unit would not have been such a success. Our final postcard from the gingerbread man was received the Friday before vacation where we received a card from Santa, letting us know that the gingerbread man was safely at the North Pole! January is always a fun time in the classroom because the children start reading groups with me. Each group gets to pick a “Team Name” and read books in a small group. This week in our small groups, we worked on using our eagle eye when reading, which reminds the children to use their eyes to look at the picture to help figure out the word. We’ve also talked about the diagraph “CH” and the word AND. At this point in the year, we have practiced the words: CAN, IS, I, A, ME, THE, YOU. Dates to Remember: Monday, January 19- No School Wednesday, January 28- Early Release Enjoy your 3 day weekend! Miss Anton
